Tenants choice is a City of York Council housing modernisation scheme. It is organised and managed by the Capital Projects Team within the Council.
BM Services is a contractor that carries out the modernisation work at the behest of the Council. BM Services is a team of local trade specialists that all have many years of experience modernising homes.

BRIAN MCINERNEY
Managing Director
Brian McInerney is the Managing Director of BM Services, and he is the site manager for City of York Councils work completed by BM Services. Brian has worked on tenants choice properties since the programme started. He carried out the first ever Tenants Choice works in CYC properties on Tudor Road over 30 years ago as a plumber for Collinson’s, one of the principal contractors at that time. Following this Brian created his own team of experienced local tradesman, taking on apprentices and worked as a subcontractor for other principal contractors. In 2018, Brian became a principal contractor and built up his own team. Brian has successfully delivered tenants choice works in 100’s of properties over the past 4 years.

Assistant Manager/Tenant Liaison Officer
Jodie Lawson joined BM Services 4 years ago after graduating from Coventry University. Immediately forming relations with the tenants and constantly being a phone call away she has excelled in ensuring every tenant is up to date with each step of their process. Since starting her role she has taken on additional site management training and gained valuable knowledge of the industry enabling her to ensure all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standard possible.
